E-commerce from nothing: site, marketplaces, warehouse and courier in one flow.
A newly founded chemical manufacturer wanted to move into e-commerce. We built the whole thing: a bespoke storefront, marketplace and courier integrations, automatic stock and price synchronisation, and a packing flow in the warehouse.

The situation
SMS Chemical is a chemical manufacturing company founded by an e-commerce manager I used to work with. He contacted me as soon as he set the company up, and said something very clear:
I want to go into e-commerce, but I want to do it with you.
This was the hardest part of starting a business from nothing: there was no system and no operation. There was a product and there was a goal; everything in between was missing.
The work
We started quickly and built a single end-to-end system.
The storefront
A fully bespoke e-commerce site that belongs to him. Not a tenant on someone else’s platform, but the owner of his own system.
Marketplace integrations
Stock levels and prices update automatically across marketplaces. No manual entry, no two different numbers in two different places. Orders coming from marketplaces drop into the site automatically, so order tracking runs from one place.
Warehouse and courier
On the warehouse side we set up the packing flow and the courier integrations. From the moment an order arrives to the moment it is handed to the courier, the process runs through one system.
The outcome
The site is live and the system works. Here it is worth being honest: e-commerce is a long game. Having a system in place does not mean sales explode the next day; getting somewhere real takes time. At this stage the infrastructure is built and running, and the marketing side is under way.
We have been working together since January 2026.
A note on ownership
On this project, as on every other, I do not keep the code or any part of the system to myself. All code and all rights of use belong to the company, and I am only the developer.
